Unitron Blu hearing aids have powerful processing technology
The Unitron Blu digital hearing aid range is powered by the Sonova PRISM (Processing Real-Time Intelligent Sound Management) chip - offering double the memory of the last chipset.
Plus the new Integra OS signal processing system is the most advanced system to date. Designed to deliver wearers an optimised listening experience that is tailor-made - whatever hearing environment they are in.
The PRISM chip not only offers double the memory of Unitron's last chip but two times more memory, which powers the personalisation features of this aid and gives you the professional fine-tuning your hearing deserves.
Unitron Blu Hearing Aids is a new design for the Moxi family
You can see from the above image that this hearing aid range showcases Unitron's redesign for 2021's Moxi family - including two lithium-ion rechargeable models.
A new streamlined shape that offers additional wearer comfort along with a more user-friendly experience, regarding programming, device maintenance and remote care.
For instance, they have introduced handy in-app reminders and 'how to' memos to prompt and educate wearers about Blu's new feature set and technology.

There are five Behind Ear hearing aid models to choose from - two rechargeable RICs, one traditional battery RIC, one rechargeable BTE power hearing aid, and a traditional BTE offering.
The most recent offering are the In Ear models - including two non-wireless and one wireless In Ear hearing aid. Here is the breakdown:

These Bluetooth hearing aids are Bluetooth 4.2 certified, which means any smartphone that supports Bluetooth and HFP should be compatible. For instance:

- Compatibility with the Remote Plus app: Minimum requirement is iOS version 10.2 and Bluetooth 4.2 or newer and Android 6.0 and Bluetooth 4.2 or newer.

Unitron Coach Feature
Your own personal assistant
Unitron's Coach feature is one of the highlights of Unitron hearing aids. Why is it beneficial? It helps in improving the hearing experience for the wearer. It is a counselling feature within the Remote Plus app designed to give you the freedom to take control of your hearing health.
It aids in better understanding your hearing device with notifications so you learn how to get the most out of them. For instance, when to change your batteries or when to charge them.
Professional and personal care
Coach uses videos, graphics and content to better relate to the client and offers simple ways to improve the wearer's experience with Unitron Blu hearing aids. It is a cloud-based system that captures, records and studies information and insights about your hearing and acoustic lifestyle.
This means it will record how well your devices are performing, which is really important. Using this data, your audiologist - if needed - can make audiological tweaks to better personalise your hearing to fit with your own unique lifestyle.
More subtle cues, connectivity and control
Unitron has created a Spatial Awareness feature that compensates for the cues that are commonly lost in hearing aids. There is even more control with the tap control feature to easily manage calls, media and gain access to virtual assistance - like Alexa.
Because the Blu is a Made for All hearing aid, you can connect and stream calls and music directly to your hearing aids. In fact, you can connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time and pair up to eight devices in total.
Focused speech
AutoFocus 360 uses four microphones to figure out where speech is coming from and then alters the amplification in each ear accordingly. It also uses dynamic noise reduction to decrease background noise that is distracting to you. Thus making it easier to hold and engage in conversations in crowded and noisy environments.
Boost the soft
Soft Speech Lift enhances the subtle nuances in speech heard. So the quiet voices are clear and comfortable to hear. The Spatial Awareness feature compensates for cues that are naturally lost in hearing aids, so you will always gain from keeping the subtle cues in your listening experience.

Are Unitron Blu hearing aids any good? We asked our audiologists for patient feedback and reviews of Unitron Blu hearing aids and here is what we received:
- The advanced and quick rechargeability.

- Better sound quality than patient's previous aids.
Unitron Blu's initial reactions
When patients first saw the Unitron Blu hearing aids they were surprised to find out how light and small they were. This was even more prevalent when original NHS hearing aid wearers upgraded their devices to this hearing aid - as the size and weight comparison was more recognised.
For example, the technology, appearance and feel of the Blu hearing aids were far superior, and the availability of remote care gave them the confidence to rely on these aids far better than their previous pair - either NHS or other model and brand.
Overall style of Unitron Blu
Patients were asked if they thought the style of these aids would instigate people to seek help earlier if they believe they have hearing loss. The general consensus is that due to the style of the Unitron Blu hearing aids consumers made a point of saying they believed people would take action sooner with their hearing loss if they knew more about these aids.
They thought that younger people would benefit most from more discreet and stylish aids and perhaps have more confidence in wearing them. They also liked the ability to pair with their phone, and also to receive care remotely that can fit in and around their busy lifestyles.
Unitron Blu's rechargeability
We asked how important Unitron Blu being rechargeable was to our patients. The rechargeable aspect of the Blu hearing aids was important to them for a few reasons. These included not having to carry batteries around with them, reducing the waste of the old batteries and not having to change the batteries in public, which can be a delicate job as they're very small.
The Remote Care included in Unitron Blu
We asked how patients felt about having access to remote support through their Unitron Blu hearing aids and app. They liked the option to have remote Telecare support and found it was vital in these still uncertain times. They found it comforting to know that if they needed help with their aids, they could tap into support from anywhere.
The Unitron Blu app
We asked patients how easy they found navigating the app. In general, they found using the Unitron App is simple and easy to use. There was a case where a consumer had a couple of questions about connecting the aids to their phone and called the Unitron team and they found that they were very helpful and quick to respond.
The beneficial features of Unitron Blu
We asked what feature or features enhanced their listening experience and we were surprised to find out that it was the weight of these hearing aids. The lighter weight of the aid seemed to improve their hearing experience. They didn't irritate their ears and therefore were able to wear them all day whilst often forgetting they were wearing them.
