Signia, Siemens, Sivantos...it's all quite confusing. Originally Siemens made mediocre hearing aids. In 2015 Sivantos bought the hearing aid division of Siemens. Two years later the name Siemens was dropped and the brand is now called Signia. The technology is now excellent.

The history behind Signia hearing aids

Are Signia hearing aids good?  Sivantos Group, the parent firm of Signia has a legacy going back to 1878 when Werner von Siemens developed an enhanced telephone receiver after seeing that some with hearing loss had difficulty understanding on the phone. The company that grew from this foundation maintains a philosophy of compassion and the need to help others.

The Siemens brand has been renowned throughout its history for producing high-quality hearing technologies. Although Siemens created the first behind-the-ear hearing aid in 1959, they are perhaps better known for pioneering the digital hearing aid with two directional microphones, as well as a waterproof digital hearing aid.

Siemens Hearing Instruments was recently purchased by Sivantos, who have now started to use the Signia name for their hearing products released subsequently.
