Resound Vivia hearing aids use advanced AI and Intelligent Focus to enhance natural hearing by reducing background noise and prioritising speech. Despite its powerful tech, Vivia remains compact with an impressive 30-hour battery life and is Auracast-ready, allowing seamless audio streaming in public spaces with improved sound quality and lower battery drain.
Available in three RIC models and a CROS option, Vivia offers durability with IP68 protection and replaceable mic filters. Users can easily adjust settings through the ReSound Smart 3D app, while accessories like the TV Streamer+ and Multi-Mic+ provide enhanced audio and clearer conversations, keeping users fully connected to their surroundings.
Resound has finally caught up with brands like Starkey and Phonak by introducing an offline form of AI (artificial intelligence) in their latest hearing aid model, powered by a deep neural network (DNN).
They’ve called this feature “Intelligent Focus,” and it’s pretty clever. It’s been trained using over 13 million speech sentences, operating across 3.9 million sound parameters, and performing a staggering 4.9 trillion operations.
All this smart tech helps the hearing aids recognise speech in real-world environments, whether you're chatting in a busy restaurant, driving in the car, or walking down a bustling street.
It then prioritises the sounds you want to hear while reducing background noise that you don’t. Ultimately, it gives you great sound clarity and focus.
Resound’s data shows that 83% of users report better hearing in noisy situations with their new Clear Focus technology compared to other top manufacturers using four-mic beamforming systems.
Even more impressive, 64% of users say they experience better hearing in noise compared to other leading AI-powered solutions.
With this level of innovation, Resound’s Vivia model is giving the competition a serious run for its money!
The microphones have had a bit of a redesign, not a complete game-changer for sound quality, but definitely a win for durability. The new microphone covers do a better job of keeping out dust and debris, which means fewer issues down the line.
Plus, if something goes wrong, you can easily swap them out yourself at home or pop into a clinic, without the hassle of sending them back to the manufacturer.
While brands like Phonak and Oticon had to make their hearing aids bigger to fit all the new tech inside, it’s great to see that Resound has managed to keep the same compact size as their previous Nexia models.
They’ve taken a page out of Phonak’s book by adding a second chip to handle the artificial intelligence, which naturally needs a lot more power to run. Impressive clever engineering has gone into keeping all that advanced tech packed into such a small device.
Resound believes that while artificial intelligence can give your brain a helping hand with hearing, it can never fully replace it. After all, the brain is the most powerful sound processor out there!
Vivia's approach to AI is all about enhancing your brain’s natural abilities, stepping in to offer extra support when needed, so your brain can keep doing what it does best: processing sound naturally.
With other manufacturers, we’ve heard there’s often a limit on how long their AI tech can stay active because it drains the battery so quickly. For example, Phonak's Infinio Sphere model's ability to handle noisy environments is indeed up there as a competitor, but it’s a bit power-hungry.
With Vivia, and despite all the heavy lifting their AI will be doing, you are promised to get a solid 30 hours of battery life on a single charge, or 20 hours if you’re streaming. What’s even more impressive is that the AI can stay engaged for 10 hours straight, which, if true, is three times longer than Phonak’s limit.
Resound isn’t new to low-energy Bluetooth and Auracast integration, but they’re the first to fully activate Auracast streaming, putting them well ahead of the competition. If you’re not familiar with Auracast, it’s set to be a game-changer for two big reasons. First, it improves Bluetooth sound quality and reduces battery drain, whether you’re streaming music, podcasts, or phone calls.
The real magic, though, is that public venues can now install Auracast transmitters that send audio straight to your hearing aids. Over the next few years, we’ll likely see Auracast replacing traditional loop systems in public spaces, allowing multiple hearing aid users to connect effortlessly with better sound quality and less battery drain.
This hearing aid range is available, at launch, in three RIC hearing aid models, and four technology levels (19, 17, 15, and 14), as well as colours: Sparkling silver, sand, gold, bronze, warm grey, graphite, espresso, deep black, navy blue, and red.
Resound’s latest hearing aids enhance natural hearing by allowing patients to focus effortlessly on what matters.
Intelligent Focus reduces background noise, while the DualChip, Triple Processor with a Deep Neural Network (DNN) improves speech clarity and supports the brain’s natural processing.
Designed for real-life use, these hearing aids are IP68-rated for protection against moisture and dust. They also offer long-lasting comfort with easy-to-replace mic filters, ensuring a consistently great experience.
With one tap, easily adjust the volume, switch programmes, or access Sound Enhancer, keeping you fully engaged with the world around you, all from your app’s main screen.
