March 2023: Resound introduced their brand new Omnia BTEs and custom-made styles (including two rechargeable options).
The Resound Omnia 7 hearing aids were introduced in September 2022, with the Resound Omnia 7 model positioned as a mid-range option, incorporating most of the features available within this range.
The Resound Omnia 7 hearing aids are available in a variety of colours and offer Bluetooth streaming compatibility for both Android and iPhone devices, as well as the new hands-free calling feature for Apple devices. There are two conventional battery options, along with a rechargeable model that provides up to 30 hours of use from a single charge.

The Omnia 7 hearing aids are designed with a strong emphasis on enhancing the wearer’s listening experience, particularly in the most challenging environments with high background noise. Since the launch of the Resound ONE hearing aids two years ago, the Omnia range has introduced several key improvements, including:
So, what does all of this mean for your hearing? The Omnia range is designed to automatically focus on the sounds you want to hear, allowing you to control what you tune into, rather than the hearing aids deciding for you.
While previous Resound hearing aids were effective in making speech clearer in noisy settings, they could sometimes struggle with loud sounds coming from behind or on the sides, which would distort the sound. With the Omnia, however, the focus is on effectively managing background noise, ensuring a clearer and more balanced listening experience.
The design wasn't reinvented for Omnia it is the same as the Resound ONE. The ONE shape was liked by many, so I'm sure that consumers will be glad there was no redesign for this new product.
The second is that the Resound app has stayed the same, but they did add a new feature - Check My Fit. More on that later. Finally, they continued with the M&RIE receiver.
The Omnia 7 shares the same design as the Resound ONE, but it comes with a host of new and improved features. One notable addition is the enhanced Ultra Focus, which allows the wearer to focus their hearing on a person directly in front of them. There's also a new algorithm designed to reduce the volume of your own voice, making the listening experience more comfortable.
However, the standout feature of the Omnia 7 is its improvement in speech clarity amidst background noise. Thanks to their Organic Hearing concept, the speech-in-noise performance is said to have improved by around 150%. While the term "Organic Hearing" may sound sophisticated, it essentially means the hearing aids deliver a more natural sound, feel comfortable, and integrate seamlessly into your everyday environment.
In research, 80% of respondents highlighted the importance of hearing clearly in noisy surroundings, so it’s clear why this became a primary focus for the Omnia range. However, it’s important to note that the 150% improvement in speech clarity is compared to older models, like the LiNX 3D.
That said, those who have used the latest Resound models continue to praise their natural sound quality, suggesting that the brand is certainly making significant strides in hearing aid technology.
The Check My Fit feature is a great tool to ensure that your hearing aids are in correctly - especially when you are a new hearing aid wearer. Like Widex Moment Sheer, which focuses on the "first-fit" experience element of hearing aids, this feature will hopefully eradicate uncertainty. How can this help you?
Using this feature will help you to always benefit from the best hearing experience. We think this feature will be a good reminder in those first few weeks of wearing and adjusting to new hearing aids. Giving you the confidence you need.
Resound Omnia 7 hearing aids are very good devices that include most of the core features that the premium model has. However, there are fewer customisation features and automatic program changes.

Generally speaking, six or more. Unless it's none at all.
The number of channels a hearing aid has is often a simplistic way an audiologist will use to explain why one hearing aid is better than another, but channels are complex and it is really not that straightforward. Here are some reasons why:
Hearing aids amplify sounds of different frequencies by different amounts. Most people have lost more high frequencies than low and therefore need more amplification in the high frequencies. The range of sounds you hear are split into frequency bands or channels and the hearing aids are set to provide the right amount of hearing at each frequency level.
Less than six channels and this cannot be done with much accuracy, so six is the magic number. However, a six channel aid is typically very basic with few other features and is suitable only for hearing a single speaker in a quiet room. The number of channels is not what you should be looking at, it's more the rest of the technology that comes with them.
As a final note, different manufacturers have different approaches. One method is not necessarily better than any other. For example, some manufacturers have as many as 64 channels in their top aids. Most tend to have between 17 and 20. One manufacturer has no channels at all.
