Launched in February 2024, the Resound Nexia 7 hearing aids offer a great auditory experience designed to accommodate a wide range of hearing loss, from mild to profound. This model is recognised as the brand's most advanced to date, providing enhanced hearing support and superior connectivity, incorporating organic hearing technology, and being ready for Bluetooth Auracast broadcast audio.
With Resound Nexia 7, you can expect a natural-sounding listening experience, alongside seamless connectivity features for everyday convenience.
According to recent findings, 70% of hearing aid users favour smaller, more discreet devices, which is why Resound has developed the microRIE, its smallest rechargeable model yet.
The hearing aids also deliver a 150% improvement in speech comprehension in noisy environments and an even better performance in terms of background and surrounding sounds. This enhancement is attributed to the combination of narrow beamforming directionality for noise management and omni-directional listening to help users hear clearly in diverse settings.
Environmental Optimiser: Automatically adjusts hearing settings as you move through different environments, ensuring optimal hearing at all times.
DFS Ultra III: Minimises feedback while preserving sound amplification, preventing the sudden sound drop or feedback common in other devices.
All-Access: Adjusts the directional microphone patterns, ensuring clear conversation even in challenging sound environments.
Ultra Focus: Focuses on speech directly in front of you while maintaining situational awareness.
microRIE: Rechargeable with a Lithium-ion battery offering all-day power, tap controls, push button, mobile call streaming, wireless accessory compatibility, and charging with various chargers (premium, standard, or desktop).
RIE 61: Features a 312 Zinc-Air battery, push button, and works with Resound wireless accessories for mobile call streaming.
RIE 62: Uses a 13 Zinc-Air battery, has a multi-function button, telecoil, and supports wireless accessory connections.
BTE/Power BTE: Rechargeable Behind-the-Ear models with Lithium-ion battery, push button, telecoil, and compatibility with all Resound accessories.
ITC/ITE: Rechargeable custom in-ear devices with a Lithium-ion battery and custom charger.
CIC: In-ear traditional hearing aids using 10A Zinc-Air batteries.

The Resound Nexia 7 hearing aids offers premium connectivity with Bluetooth Auracast, ensuring superior sound quality, reduced battery drain, and an enhanced audio experience. They support audio sharing between hearing aids and mobile devices that also feature Auracast.
You can also connect your hearing aids to the TV-Streamer+, which is Bluetooth Auracast-enabled, allowing you to stream audio directly to your hearing aids at the preferred volume level via the Smart 3D App.
The Smart 3D App offers a user-friendly interface to guide you in correctly wearing your hearing aids, customising your sound experience, and accessing remote support from your audiologist. The app features a new "Hear in Noise" program that allows users to make adjustments for improved hearing in various noisy environments.

Generally speaking, six or more. Unless it's none at all.
The number of channels a hearing aid has is often a simplistic way an audiologist will use to explain why one hearing aid is better than another, but channels are complex and it is really not that straightforward. Here are some reasons why:
Hearing aids amplify sounds of different frequencies by different amounts. Most people have lost more high frequencies than low and therefore need more amplification in the high frequencies. The range of sounds you hear are split into frequency bands or channels and the hearing aids are set to provide the right amount of hearing at each frequency level.
Less than six channels and this cannot be done with much accuracy, so six is the magic number. However, a six channel aid is typically very basic with few other features and is suitable only for hearing a single speaker in a quiet room. The number of channels is not what you should be looking at, it's more the rest of the technology that comes with them.
As a final note, different manufacturers have different approaches. One method is not necessarily better than any other. For example, some manufacturers have as many as 64 channels in their top aids. Most tend to have between 17 and 20. One manufacturer has no channels at all.
