Phonak Infinio hearing aids are said to be designed to bring wearers great sound quality and everyday comfort from the very first use.
Powered by advanced technology that has been stated to set new boundaries of hearing care, Phonak Infinio promises effortless and confident engagement with the world.
Wearers can expect updates in durability, chips, and better more efficient Bluetooth connection.
Phonak Infinio hearing aids help you connect to more Bluetooth devices than any other hearing solution currently on the market.
In fact, connectivity goes beyond just iOS and Android; as the new ERA chip provides seamless, hands-free calls and streaming at twice the usual distance as the last hearing aid launch - the Lumity.
In a nutshell, the Bluetooth is stronger and more reliable. It's simply better.
It is safe to say, that with the launch of Infinio Sphere hearing aids, Phonak is fully embracing artificial intelligence (AI). Due to this upgrade, since Lumity, it should mean that these devices can deliver exceptional speech understanding in all listening conditions, with great sound quality, enhanced connectivity, and personalised wearer experiences.
However, this isn't the first hearing aid brand to incorporate AI technology within their hearing aids. Both the Starkey Genesis AI and Oticon Intent hearing aids are also AI-driven hearing aids using a Deep Neural Network (DNN). Like Infinio, these solutions include DNN technology, an advanced AI "brain" that captures and learns from the wearer's specific preferences.
For instance, when we look at hearing aids, DNN mirrors how your brain would hear and interpret sounds if you didn't have hearing loss. This means a more natural and realistic listening experience.
Sphere exclusively features dual-chip technology - with one chip dedicated to real-time AI processing, the DEEPSONIC chip, allowing for the instant separation of speech from background noise. This chip boasts a 10 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), up to 3.7 dB better than competitors, according to Phonak.
Other tests show that wearers are also 2 to 3 times more likely to understand speech from any direction compared to other leading hearing aid brand competitors.
The second chip, ERA, functions as a new, advanced central processing unit, handling most of the essential features we are now expecting from modern hearing aids, such as speech and noise processing, Bluetooth connectivity, noise reduction, and feedback control.
While the Audeo Infinio boasts an array of enhanced features, the main distinction from the premium model, the Audeo Sphere Infinio, lies in its sound processing approach. The Sphere model integrates onboard AI technology, allowing it to adapt dynamically to complex sound environments.
The Audeo Infinio uses a single-chip system, whereas the Audeo Sphere Infinio employs a dual-chip system to boost power. Each model is tailored to different wearer needs: the Infinio offers a versatile option for those seeking reliable performance without advanced AI processing.

Other than the AI addition, Phonak states that Sphere Infinio has an impressive 10 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) benefit without the need for accessories like remote microphones.
There is also a 45% reduction in listening effort in quiet environments for those with moderate to severe hearing loss. Plus, it reduces fatigue by 21% when the Speech Enhancer is activated and along with Phonak’s Roger ON remote mic, Infinio is said to improve speech understanding by 61%.
The durability has also been improved, with advanced waterproofing that enhances the hearing aids' resilience to everyday wear and tear. Phonak has incorporated innovations from previous models, like the Phonak Lumity Life, into the Infinio range, ensuring robust and reliable performance.
It is important to note that although not designed for lap swimming, Phonak’s tests show these hearing aids can handle occasional water exposure.
As well as the Audeo Sphere RIC, the Infinio range includes the rechargeable Audeo Infinio R and CROS Infinio RIC hearing aids.
It also offers a complete range of Virto rechargeable In-the-Ear (ITE) devices, along with battery-powered non-wireless Completely-in-Canal (CIC) and titanium Invisible-in-Canal (IIC) aids.

Phonak has introduced advanced AI innovations in their Sphere hearing aids, transitioning from offline machine learning to a deep neural network.
The Infinio Sphere features a dedicated real-time AI chip for speech-from-noise separation, enhancing clarity in noisy environments.
This deep neural network has 4.5 million connections and is trained on over 22 million sound samples, improving the signal-to-noise ratio by up to 10 dB.
Studies show a 36.8% boost in speech understanding and reduced listening effort, with wearers experiencing 21% less fatigue. Those using the Roger On system benefit even more, with speech comprehension increasing by 61%.
All the Infinio models include the ERA chip, focusing on sound quality, connectivity, and personalisation. Here are the features and the benefits to the wearer.
This allows you to rely more on hearing than on visual cues, resulting in a more relaxed listening experience with clearer, more natural sounds, especially in noisy situations.
Phonak stands out as the only manufacturer utilising classic Bluetooth, enabling connections with a wide range of devices beyond just smartphones. They've further enhanced this capability with four key innovations.
The Infinio's universal compatibility allows it to connect seamlessly with all Bluetooth-enabled devices, including smartphones, tablets, and computers. It supports various audio codecs for high-quality streaming and enables dual streaming, letting wearers connect to multiple devices at once, something no other manufacturer offers currently.
The Infinio also features hands-free calling with a new chip that ensures instant connectivity. Phonak claims this provides the lowest latency ever, eliminating any noticeable delay when switching between different audio sources.
The new chip enhances transmission power by six times compared to earlier models, resulting in a much more stable, robust, and faster connection. This boost in power guarantees consistent audio quality and connectivity over greater distances, allowing you to enjoy uninterrupted streaming and phone calls, even if your device is in your bag or jacket.
Finally, the Infinio is also ready for Auracast. By incorporating the latest version of LE audio technology, Phonak joins other brands like Resound, and Oticon in enhancing your listening experience even more.
Phonak have earned fame with their Bluetooth Classic approach to connection which made connection simply easier, simultaneous connectivity possible, and hands-free capability for Android and iPhone users. Phonak Audeo Infinio hearing aids look to continue that trend.

If in doubt, feel free to give us a call. That's what we're here for.
If you have a significant hearing loss in both ears, you should be wearing two hearing aids. Here are the audiological reasons why:
Localisation. The brain decodes information from both ears and compares and contrasts them. By analysing the miniscule time delays as well as the difference in loudness of each sound reaching the ears, the person is able to accurately locate a sound source. Simply put, if you have better hearing on one side than the other, you can't accurately tell what direction sounds are coming from.
Less amplification required. A phenomena known as “binaural summation” means that the hearing aids can be set at a lower and more natural volume setting than than if you wore only one hearing aid.
Head shadow effect. High frequencies, the part of your hearing that gives clarity and meaning to speech sounds, cannot bend around your head. Only low frequencies can. Therefore if someone is talking on your unaided side you are likely to hear that they are speaking, but be unable to tell what they have said.
Noise reduction. The brain has it’s own built in noise reduction which is only really effective when it is receiving information from both ears. If only one ear is aided, even with the best hearing aid in the world, it will be difficult for you to hear in background noise as your brain is trying to retain all of the sounds (including background noise) rather than filtering it out.
Sound quality. We are designed to hear in stereo. Only hearing from one side sounds a lot less natural to us.
For most people, the main benefit of a rechargeable hearing aid is simple convenience. We are used to plugging in our phones and other devices overnight for them to charge up.
For anybody with poor dexterity or issues with their fingers, having a rechargeable aid makes a huge difference as normal hearing aid batteries are quite small and some people find them fiddly to change.
One downside is that if you forget to charge your hearing aid, then it is a problem that can't be instantly fixed. For most a 30 minute charge will get you at least two or three hours of hearing, but if you are the type of person who is likely to forget to plug them in regularly then you're probably better off with standard batteries.
Rechargeable aids are also a little bit bigger and are only available in behind the ear models.
Finally, just like with a mobile phone, the amount of charge you get on day one is not going to be the same as you get a few years down the line. Be sure to ask what the policy is with the manufacturer warranty when it comes to replacing the battery.
For most people, the answer is yes. But it's never that simple.
The majority of hearing problems affect the high frequencies a lot more than the low ones. Therefore open fitting hearing aids sound a lot more natural and ones that block your ears up can make your own voice sound like you are talking with your head in a bucket. Therefore in-ear aids tend to be less natural.
However the true answer is we can't tell until we have had a look in your ears to assess the size of your ear canal, and until we have tested your hearing to see which frequencies are being affected.
People with wider ear canals tend to have more flexibility, also there are open fitting modular CIC hearing aids now that do not block your ears.
There is also the age old rule to consider, that a hearing aid will not help you if it's sat in the drawer gathering dust. If the only hearing aid you would be happy wearing is one that people can't see, then that's what you should get.
Most people can adapt to any type of hearing aid, as long as they know what to expect. Have an honest conversation with your audiologist as to what your needs are.
Generally speaking, six or more. Unless it's none at all.
The number of channels a hearing aid has is often a simplistic way an audiologist will use to explain why one hearing aid is better than another, but channels are complex and it is really not that straightforward.
Hearing aids amplify sounds of different frequencies by different amounts. Most people have lost more high frequencies than low and therefore need more amplification in the high frequencies. The range of sounds you hear are split into frequency bands or channels and the hearing aids are set to provide the right amount of hearing at each frequency level.
Less than six channels and this cannot be done with much accuracy, so six is the magic number. However, a six channel aid is typically very basic with few other features and is suitable only for hearing a single speaker in a quiet room. The number of channels is not what you should be looking at, it's more the rest of the technology that comes with them.
As a final note, different manufacturers have different approaches. One method is not necessarily better than any other. For example some manufacturers have as many as 64 channels in their top aids. Most tend to have between 17 and 20. One manufacturer has no channels at all.
Hearing aids are easily lost, misplaced or damaged and typically are one of the most expensive personal possessions an individual can own. We offer hearing aid warranty cover for £80 per year per aid. Find out more here
