Currently, the Oticon More hearing aid range was originally launched in just a rechargeable RIC design -  now there is more to the portfolio, which I will go through in more detail further down the page.  But, let's focus on the Oticon More miniRITE R.  This model is a discreet rechargeable style with the technology for you to gain from all relevant sounds. 

It assists the brain in making sense of the sound you hear with the simplicity and convenience of a double push-button to control your volume and programmes.  Featuring seamless Bluetooth technology to pair to all your at-home devices.

With the Oticon More hearing aid desktop charger, Oticon states that you can get a full day of hearing and streaming in just 3 hours charge.  However, please be aware that they are generalising here - it all depends on the level of your hearing loss, use pattern, active features, sound environment, age of the battery and use of streaming.

What about Oticon More hearing aid's Bluetooth connectivity? 

When it comes to connectivity, More ticks all the boxes.  You can connect to the full range of Oticon accessories (with the exception of the CROS) and performs really well with most mobile phones.  Oticon has also stated that the More will work with the new Bluetooth protocol - LE Audio, which will effectively be the new generation of reliable audio streaming.

With Oticon More hearing aids, you can gain from connecting to both Android and Apple mobile phones and other Bluetooth devices. So you can stream music, talk on the phone and control your hearing aids - using the Oticon ON app.

Now for Android

Historically Oticon has made really good MFI hearing aids and now Oticon More is for both Made for iPhone and introduces one-way streaming to Android devices too (Android 10 and Bluetooth 5.0).  Please remember that Oticon More hearing aid Android devices need to support Audio Streaming from Hearing Aids (ASHA) to allow direct streaming to Oticon More.

Back in 2021, Oticon launched the More hearing aid range, which boasted BTE models with a new operating system. But, this release did not appeal to ITE hearing aid wearers and this new technology wasn't accessible in this type of style. That is until now.

As consumers are drawn more towards the discreet hearing aid models, Oticon has made miniturisation one of their focus points since Oticon Opn ITE options.  The result?  Smaller, more discreet ITE hearing aids that meet the needs of the patients.

This is especially true for the Oticon Own 1 IIC hearing aids, which are said to be invisible in 9 out of 10 ears, which is supported by Oticon's own White Papers.  This is made possible by developing smaller components, better software and process methods.

What is different with Oticon Own hearing aids when compared to the More offerings?  There are a few differences.  All the Oticon Own hearing aids provide exactly the same features as the Oticon More, but in an ITE model that doesn't connect with the CROS system (unlike the BTE More options).  But, what else is different?

The main thing to consider when choosing between the BTE More and ITE Own hearing aids is if you want Bluetooth.  The Oticon Own hearing aids only offer Bluetooth connectivity in the ITC and both ITE models, as the IIC and CIC styles are none-wireless.  In these styles, the Oticon Own hearing aids provide direct streaming to both iPhone and Android devices.  You can also access hands-free calls from iPhones and iPads - using your hearing aids as personal headphones.

None of the Oticon Own hearing aids are rechargeable, unlike the More, and because there are only two styles that have Bluetooth connectivity, you'll have to choose between features and size. It is also worth mentioning that these two Bluetooth options can have an added telecoil feature, but not both. So again you'll have to choose between connectivity and this feature.
