In September 2021, Oticon introduced its new CROS solution hearing aids to the industry - the Oticon CROS PX miniRITE R. The original CROS launched in 2019 and has also been known as Oticon Opn CROS.
Now there are two CROS solutions available to choose from including the new addition and the Oticon CROS miniRITE T. The image on the right is the new CROS PX, which is the same model as the Oticon More miniRITE R.
The image on the left is the Oticon CROS miniRITE T RIC model and the same styles as the Oticon Opn S miniRITE T, which has these main key features:
As well as the dual microphone sound pickup, pre-processing and noise reduction and wireless transmission to Oticon hearing devices - these hearing aids give you access to a quality open sound experience to support your focus on the most important sounds in your environment.
Featuring OpenSound Navigator that continuously scans your listening environment - balancing the levels and eradicating unwanted background noise when you need it most.
The dual streaming capabilities mean you can enjoy watching TV, listening to your music as you conversate with someone who is talking with you on your bad hearing side.
The image above is the Oticon CROS PX miniRITE R RIC model and the same styles as the Oticon More miniRITE R model, a lithium-ion rechargeable style (can be charges using the portable SmartCharger), which has these main key features:
This new CROS system is compatible with an array of other Oticon hearing aid ranges, so you can mix and match to get the right solution for you and your hearing loss. The premium sound quality is due to the sound processing - optimised for single-sided deafness. Ultimately giving you the advantage of great sound from a 360 degree soundscape.
The dual streaming and TwinLink feature gives you a great connection to audio devices like your TV, music station and more. You can also have a conversation at the same time with someone who is sitting on your bad ear side.
If you have significant or total hearing loss in one of your ears, you experience challenging hearing situations every day. Oticon CROS solutions are uniquely designed to assist you to overcome these challenges.
Although these unilateral hearing aids use different platforms the solution is the same - they are made of two parts. The first part is the transmitter that includes a microphone, which wirelessly absorbs and sends sound from your poor ear to your better ear. The second part is the hearing aid that absorbs sound from the transmitter and sends it to your better ear.
The cost of Oticon CROS hearing aids is the same as whichever model you choose - they are £795. However, please remember that the price is valid if fitted with another hearing aid purchased from us. If the CROS unit is to be fitted to an existing hearing aid then there will be an additional £250 fee for the fitting and ongoing aftercare.
There will be an additional surcharge of £125 if we are pairing a single hearing aid with an existing aid bought from another company where we are taking over the aftercare responsibilities and looking after both hearing aids
If you are wondering whether either of the Oticon CROS is right for you, or if you would like more information - call our experts on 0800 567 7621 and they will advise you.
