Bernafon Alpha XT brings a few upgrades
Bernafon Alpha XT hearing aids promise to be an extension of the Hybrid Technology, but more comprehensive. It still incorporates the core Hybrid features I mentioned earlier, but now includes a new complimentary feature - the Hybrid Sound Care, which basically removes noise at the beginning of the signal processing.
This feature tackles and protects you from the annoyance of both wind noise and contact noise. How does this help your hearing?
Because this technology can make 500 adjustments per second across 24 frequency bands, you will gain more comfort in wind noise and handling noise, such as brushing your hair or putting on your glasses. Resulting in better speech clarity and better listening comfort with less listening effort.
All these Hybrid features work in harmony so that the sound you hear is always the best in various listening situations. Giving you greater speech understanding and listening comfort.

What technology is included in Alpha XT?
New Hybrid Sound Care
Successfully protects you from wind and contact noise with 500 automatic adjustments per second in 24 frequency bands. How can this support your hearing? This preserves the sound and speech signal by using the Wind Noise Protector which reduces the disturbance of wind. It also improves speech clarity and supports listening comfort in windy listening situations.
How does it do this? It analyses the different sound signals in both the front and back microphones and reduces them accordingly.
The Contact Noise Protector assists in preventing the annoyance of contact noise, such as brushing your hair. Traditional hearing aids in the past would have amplified these noises like other sounds, but Alpha XT quickly detects them and reduces amplification automatically.

Hybrid Noise Management
This detects your noise sources and direction and acts if needed (like speech in noise) or preserves your natural soundscape and awareness. The Smart Directionality is activated if the environment needs to be preserved without any speech present. The Smart Noise Reduction kicks in if there is speech in your natural environment that needs to be enhanced for a clean speech signal.
How can this support your hearing? You gain from a better 360-degree awareness of your surroundings, so you will always feel a part of your environment. These features reduce listening effort and the fatigue that comes with a concentration on distinguishing sound and speech.
It allows for better speech understanding and listening comfort, especially in challenging listening environments.

- Improved resolution across 24 frequency bands
- A more accurate noise management system based on around 36,000 signal estimations per second
- Cleaner speech signal using AI machine learning.
Hybrid Balancing
Gives you two personalisation features called Speech Balancer and Noise Balancer so you can gain from an environment that mirrors your perception of the sound environment. If there is speech present, it is either enhanced or taken away. How does this help your hearing? It means that both listening comfort and speech clarity are balanced.

Hybrid Feedback Canceller
This analyses shifts in feedback with around 126,000 measurements per second. This takes away feedback within milliseconds, so it never becomes audible to you. For example, in static conditions, there are shifts in feedback that are gradual, which is masked.
In dynamic conditions, such as picking up a phone, there are sudden shifts, which this feature counteracts.

What is the rechargeability of Alpha XT?
Hearing aid recharging stations
There are two recharging stations to choose from with the Bernafon Alpha XT hearing aids. There is a free-standing standard desktop charger, for charging at home. It includes inductive contactless charging that is easy to use.
There is also the portable Charger Plus, which is a power bank that allows for three full charges. Because it is a small and secure system, your hearing aids will be easy to carry and will be fully charged in four hours.
The disposable hearing aid battery models are realistically going to last slightly less than a week before you need to swap them for new ones.
Bernafon Alpha XT hearing aid streaming and compatibility
- You can make hands-free calls from an iPhone or iPad using your devices as a headset if you have an iPhone 11 or later running iOS 15.2 or later, and an iPad running iPadOS 15.2 or later.
- Stream directly from iPhone, iPad, and Android if your mobile supports Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA).
- Compatible with Bernafon's Music Experience program that is designed to give you a better, more balanced music experience.
Bernafon Alpha XT hearing aid accessories
Bernafon Alpha XT are Bluetooth hearing aids that stream and connect to all the Bernafon hearing aid accessories. Looking at the three popular examples below (in order of appearance) - the SoundClip-A is versatile and ideal for sound streaming. The RC-A is an easy-to-use remote control to adjust your hearing aids quickly.
Finally, the TV-A is a TV adapter that allows you to stream TV audio straight to your hearing aids.
Bernafon Alpha XT hearing aid app
There is a new Bernafon app, which now offers remote support to hearing aid wearers and this also programs the new voice notification for low battery and troubleshooting. This app is compatible with devices iOS 13 or above and Android 8.0 and above.
The app can also enable you to:
- Adjust hearing aid volume
- Adjust the intensity of the bass
- Locate your hearing aids with the "find my hearing aid" function
- Connect multiple TV adapters
