Here we will take a brief look into the Widex digital hearing aid launches throughout the year - starting with the new Widex Moment hearing aid range. This content will be updated as and when new hearing aid ranges are available in the UK market from this manufacturer.
Widex launched the SmartRIC hearing aid range in April 2024 with a new slim L-shaped Receiver in Canal (RIC) hearing solution. Powered on the Moment platform chip, this design includes microphones that are placed in such a way that it improves your directionality and focus - especially in speech targeting.
With SmartRIC hearing aids, Widex are rethinking the way in which sound is captured within a hearing aid. This should effectively offer you an even more natural sound with access to the voices and sounds you want to hear and better focus where you need it the most.

Launched at the beginning of September 2022, Widex Moment Sheer hearing aids are their new flagship product and supersede the original Moment hearing aid range. However, not completely, as this new range is currently only available in an RIC model - unlike Moment, which is available in BTE and ITE device options too.
Widex Moment Sheer is designed to further enhance the hearing aid wearer's lifestyle and even well-being. With advanced hardware and software technologies - Widex promises to deliver a more supported hearing solution that will engage with the wearer and improve well-being.
What's better with the Sheer when compared to the original Moment? The sound is said to be even simply better. With the additional parameters in their MySound technology, Sheer gives you more control of how you hear wherever you are as the AI personalisation is more versatile.
There are added fractal sounds within the SoundRelax feature that are designed to give you focus and a sense of relaxation. There are also new acoustically improved ear tips, fitting recommendations, and new elegant designs.

In March 2020, Widex launched its Moment hearing aid range. Welcoming the smallest (at launch) lithium-ion-powered rechargeable to the industry. What's special about this launch? Well, Widex hasn't had any rechargeable lithium-ion hearing aids in any of their ranges so far and that's put off consumers of late.
The Moment hearing aid launch changed all that and Widex answered consumer demands and made this latest Widex hearing aid a great and competitive rechargeable product in the industry.
What else does the Moment have to offer? As well as providing a sleek and stylish compact charger to ensure all the power you need - it also includes an AI system. This artificial intelligence technology trains your hearing aids to make them more personable to you.
So you ultimately benefit from a better hearing experience that's bespoke to your hearing loss needs and environment.
But, the most revolutionary of all is Widex's ZeroDelay Accelerator which is designed to change the way in which hearing aids themselves sound. The first time ever signal processing has been featured within a hearing aid will have zero delays. Thus, creating a more natural and realistic sound experience than the hearing aids of the past - introducing the Widex PureSound.
But, it doesn’t end there. Widex claims that the Moment does not sound like a hearing aid. What does this actually mean? Some hearing aids of the past may have sounded ‘tinny’ and artificial to some people.
One reason for this can be because the sound you hear is out of sync. Let me explain, the processed sound reaches your eardrum a split second later than the sound travelling directly through the hearing aid's ear tip. Giving you a more realistic sound.
However, in reality, the ‘tinny’ sound Widex is referring to is a generalisation. People can rarely detect digital echo in aids. Most of our customers who have worn Moment aids can’t detect the difference in speed from their previous devices. However, they have enjoyed the natural sound quality – so they must be doing something right.
